MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., April 10 /PRNewswire/ -- The biggest week of golf concluded today in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, with the 12th annual Hootie & the Blowfish Monday after the Masters Celebrity Golf Tournament. Hosted by Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday, the "Golf Capital of the World" hosted nearly 40,000 golfers during its busiest week of golf of the year and Golfapalooza added to their ultimate golf experience.

More than 7,000 fans are expected to attend the 12th annual Hootie & the Blowfish Monday After the Masters Golf Tournament on Monday, April 10th. One of the most popular celebrity pro-ams in the country, the Monday After the Masters Tournament attracts fans who enjoy the music of the two-time Grammy award winners as well as the friendly competition between the band and their celebrity friends. Over the past 11 years, the tournament has donated more than $3 million to junior golf and educational charities.

Some of the celebrities, musicians and athletes scheduled to participate include golf legend Arnold Palmer, former NFL stars Dan Marino, Dwight Clark, Gale Sayers, Bernie Kosar, Jim McMahon and Tony Siragusa; Current University of South Carolina head football coach Steve Spurrier and All-Pro Miami Dolphin defensive end Jason Taylor will participate. From the PGA TOUR, John Daly, Chris DiMarco, Tom Kite, Rich Beem, JB Holmes and Lee Elder will join the band for a day of golf. Fans will have the opportunity to see ESPN personality Stuart Scott, actors Gary Valentine and Kevin Sorbo plus musicians Meat Loaf, Branford Marsalis, Javier and Jason Mraz.

The "Golf Capital of the World's" Biggest Weekend of Golf kicked off with the third annual Golfapalooza, held Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8 at Legends Resort. Golfers enjoyed club demos from leading manufacturers, custom club-fitting, golf clinics and instruction, skill contests, Masters viewing on a giant 24-foot screen, live musical entertainment, food, beverages and random drawings for prizes valued at more than $25,000.
