Granite Broadcasting Corporation Announces Strategic Agreements for Its Buffalo and Detroit Stations

NEW YORK, April 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Granite Broadcasting Corporation (BULLETIN BOARD: GBTVK) today announced strategic agreements for its stations serving Buffalo, New York and Detroit, Michigan.
In Buffalo, Granite's station WKBW-TV has entered into an agreement with Equity Broadcasting Corp. of Little Rock, Arkansas to be the advertising sales representative for WNGS-TV, an independent station also serving the Buffalo television market. The agreement also includes the broadcast of WKBW-TV's "7 News" branded programming on WNGS-TV, including the airing of special news reports and a daily sports show.
In Detroit, Granite's station WDWB-TV, which recently affiliated with MyNetworkTV, has entered into an agreement with Fox Sports Net to broadcast an attractive package of 16 Detroit Tigers games. The station will kickoff the season today with the Tigers home opener in conjunction with Fox Sports Net. The remaining 15 games will begin airing in June and will run throughout the baseball season.

WNGS-TV Channel 67 is an "RTN" (Retro Television Network) affiliate, primarily broadcasting popular entertainment programming from the 60's, 70's, 80's, and 90's as well as key local and regional sporting events including a package of New York Mets and New York Yankees baseball games. WNGS-TV is available to most Western New York cable subscribers, and can be seen on Channel 11 on the Adelphia systems in the City of Buffalo and area suburbs.
