LOS ANGELES, April 4 /PRNewswire/ -- After eight years on Wilshire's Miracle Mile, The Conga Room, L.A.'s, premiere Latin and World music venue, will move to the LA Live! Entertainment complex in downtown Los Angeles.
"We are delighted to be part of LA Live!," says Brad Gluckstein, CEO and Managing Partner. "Downtown L.A. is undergoing an historic transformation and The Conga Room is at the cultural forefront, showcasing the best of Latin and World music for all Angelenos."
The Conga Room, which boasts celebrity owners Jennifer Lopez, Jimmy Smits, Paul Rodriguez, Sheila E. and others will open at LA Live! in 2007 and will feature a private club/restaurant featuring a Cevicheria and gourmet Taco bar concept paired with a 13,000 sq. ft. 1,000 person-capacity live entertainment venue/dance club.
The Conga Room has devised a new model in live entertainment venues, which will build media content for subsequent airing on a wide variety of platforms, to include internet, radio, television and film. The technologically advanced venue will be highly suited to outside and in-house media production. Separate television and radio "broadcast pods" overlooking Nokia Plaza will be utilized by the Los Angeles-based TV outlet LAtv, which will beam a show live from the Conga Room on a daily basis. LAtv is owned by majority partner Walter Ulloa, the CEO of Entravision, a NYSE company.
Additionally, Gluckstein will also inaugurate The CongaKids Foundation, a 501-C3 non-profit organization devoted to educating children through exposure to the arts. This project will find a home at the GRAMMY Museum, to be located at LA Live!
Located across from Staples Center, LA Live! is an entertainment complex which will contain a 1,200 room hotel; a five-story ESPN building, a 7,100-seat theatre for award telecasts; a 12-screen cineplex, a 2,500-seat theatre and the GRAMMY Museum.
For eight years, The Conga Room has established itself as L.A.'s home of live world-renowned Latin talent, including Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, Los Van Van, Carlos Santana, Olga Tanon, Andy Garcia & Cachao, Eddie Palmieri, The Buena Vista Social Club, and many, many others. The Conga Room has also hosted dozens of entertainment industry and political events.
