Bass Pale Ale Signs On to Help Sponsor Latest British Invasion

NORWALK, Conn., April 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Bass Pale Ale, the original British ale, has signed on to help sponsor the BritBus Tour, a cross-country trek by a classic British double-decker bus bringing the latest wave in U.K. music to America. The 10-city tour launches in Los Angeles on April 30 with major label British acts The Magic Numbers, Hard-Fi, James Blunt, and Paul Oakenfold lending their support with CD signings and photo-calls.

In each destination along the route, the BritBus will host U.K. music listening parties. Julia Jones, BritBus Tour founder says, "I know that there are millions of people across the U.S. who have simply never heard of these young Brit bands, although many of them are hugely successful in the rest of the world. I don't expect to single-handedly create a new surge of U.K. music sales, but this seemed like an exciting way to take British music to Americans' doors!" This is the second year that the tour has taken place.

After its 4,000 mile tour, the BritBus will 'rock' into New York City on May 25 for an appearance on the CBS Early Show and an event at the Hard Rock Cafe.

The new 'British invasion' was recently featured in USA Today and is gaining momentum across the country with many live shows by acts such as the Artic Monkeys and James Blunt selling out within hours. In addition to Bass Pale Ale, Virgin Atlantic, Kicker Audio, NME, Gibson, Epiphone, Virgin Megastore, Ashdown amplifiers, NewYork.com, Coach USA, and Premier drums have also stepped forward to provide additional support to promote the latest in Brit rock.

Major media support is being given by Fuse TV and SIRIUS Radio as they follow the second year of this tour across America, documenting the journey and the British music parties hosted by Jones along the way.

Undiscovered British bands have the opportunity to win a promotional spot on the tour in the "unsigned competition." The winner will be selected from submitted MP3's by students in New York University's music business program and will be flown from London to join the final party in New York City.

"The BritBus Tour is a fantastic way to deliver the latest in hip British music to our Bass drinkers," says Anthony Giardina, Bass Pale Ale brand manager.

The BritBus Tour dates and stops are:

San Francisco -- May 4

Salt Lake City -- May 8
Denver -- May 11
Des Moines -- May 13
