Grand Prize Winner to Jet-Set to NYC to Kick-Start Music Career and Cut Demo for Record Label

NEW YORK, March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- VO5(R) is inviting all unrecognized singing stars to jump start their music career and achieve rock star style that moves in its national search for America's Next Red Hot Rising Star. One solo musician will earn the chance to fly to New York City to launch her music career, cut a demo and receive a listen from a record label. The winner will also receive a rock star makeover with VO5 styling products to look and feel vitally alive, star in a professional photo shoot and debut in national magazines in the next VO5 Red Hot Rising Stars campaign. Say goodbye to late night trips to the local karaoke bar! Grab your microphones and become the next musician to rock the airwaves.

Calling all Red-Hot Musicians!

Musicians and songwriters from across the country can record and send in a cassette or CD of an original song, no longer than four-minutes in length, accompanied by two recent photographs (3x5 or 4x6) that demonstrate their unique style. Applicants can enter electronically via the contest Web site at www.vo5style.com, or by mailing in the entry form found on the web site to the VO5 Red Hot Rising Stars Contest at 4 Times Square, 11th Floor, New York, NY 10036. Entries must be received or postmarked by 11:59 p.m. on April 21, 2006.

Contest Details

Entries will be qualified and initially judged on/around May 5, 2006 by a panel comprised of a recording industry professional, VO5 executives and CNP executives who in turn, will select five finalists from among all eligible entries. Entries will be judged on quality of voice, quality of song and contestant's personal style as demonstrated in their submitted photographs. The five finalists' original songs will then be posted on the contest Web site from July 5, 2006 through August 14, 2006 where Americans can cast their votes for the finalist with the rock star style that moves best. The winner will be announced on/around November 6, 2006.
