Extra Paycheck? New Ceridian Survey Finds How U.S. Workers Would Use Those Dollars to Improve Their Financial Wellness

U-S workers would invest an extra paycheck or pay down debt with it, rather than use the money to buy themselves an extravagant gift or make a down payment on a new car according to a new survey of managers and executives at small- to medium-sized companies conducted by Ceridian, a leader in managed human resource outsourcing solutions.

March 2006 is just one month in which U-S workers who are paid every other week (rather than monthly or semi-monthly, for example) receive three paychecks. A by-product of calendar design, "three paycheck months" can occur twice a year.

'Who Would You Have a Beer With?'

If you could have a beer with anyone, who would it be? Renowned filmmaker Spike Lee has teamed up with the beer industry to ask adult beer drinkers this provocative question.

In phase two of the industry development campaign led by Anheuser-Busch, the leading U-S brewer will debut a series of television ads directed by Lee, featuring vignettes of celebrities discussing who they would have a beer with if they had the chance. The ads were created by D-D-B Chicago and produced by Lee's production company, Forty Acres and A Mule Filmworks.

The first ad in the series, which debuts this weekend, features Spike Lee raising a glass to famed Brooklyn Dodger Jackie Robinson.

Though Most Rate Their Skills as Average, Americans' Love Affair With Grilling Grows

Although the majority of outdoor grill owners (fifty-four percent) grill year round, and seventy percent grill at least once a week, most grillers (sixty-six percent) rate their skills as "average," according to the 17th Annual Weber GrillWatch(TM) Survey.

However, almost one in four men (twenty-three percent) are more satisfied with their personal grilling skills, saying that they are "better than most." Women aren't quite as confident: Only twelve percent say they are "better than most."
