inDplay.com Launches Online Rights Acquisition System
SAN FRANCISCO, March 27 /PRNewswire/ -- By launching the rights acquisition component of their online rights management system, inDplay announced today that the inDplay.com online film rights trading marketplace is open for business.
Now, fully segmented film rights can be traded securely over the web. The services inDplay.com provides are a flexible buyer-seller negotiation process, and a contract, rights and payments management system, which allows buyers and sellers of filmed entertainment to negotiate, license and settle payments for specific rights. Today's announcement enables film distributors (and other acquirers of rights) to rapidly expand their film portfolios in a rapid, cost-effective and streamlined way.
Omar Kaczmarczyk, an early innovator of segmented rights distribution for the motion picture and entertainment industry, commends the recent developments at inDplay. Kaczmarczyk's financing and sales consortium venture, OK Company (OKCO) has handled over 140 international co-productions and independent films worldwide -- specializing in licensing film rights for worldwide markets.
Kaczmarczyk stated, "I represent all international rights and then segment them for sale into different local markets. I need to track a large volume of clients, rights and buyers, which is a challenge I'm handing over to inDplay to solve for me. With the new inDplay approach, I expect to double my business volume, handled by the same sales team, as well as expand our trading into new markets and channels. The system also enables my team to create a new 24-hour shift to cover all time zones. Additionally, inDplay will enable OKCO products to reach a growing world of new international buyers, across territories and platforms."
Kaczmarczyk is recognized internationally as an innovator of motion picture licensing techniques. Previously challenging industry frontiers by developing and implementing the segmented-licensing system that resulted in a record-breaking deal between Tristar, Viacom, and Media Home Entertainment, Omar's system has gone on to become the industry standard in international distribution.
Goetz Weber, inDplay's CEO, says, "We are pleased to have the support of a pioneer in the motion picture business, and we are excited to facilitate a next-generation online, rights trading marketplace. Increasing rights' liquidity, on a worldwide scale, with greater success for both buyers and sellers, is inDplay's mission."
