Dynamic, Highly Awarded Storyteller Comes to Monterey for Two Performances in April
CASTROVILLE, Calif., March 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Master storyteller and Broadway performer, Odds Bodkin will give two "story blast" performances for kids of all ages at the Golden State Theater in Monterey on April 8.
Odds Bodkin's character-voice and music-filled storytelling style has been mesmerizing listeners, young and old, for twenty-one years. His all-original music on 12-string guitars, Celtic harp, grand piano and other instruments makes his collection of stories resemble pieces of musical theater as much as storytelling.
Mr. Bodkin has produced seventeen award-winning audio recordings, which range from original dino-musicals for young children, including the famous Little Proto Trilogy, through an eclectic collection of international folktales, fairytales and comic tall tales. His audio stories have won the Golden Headset Award, Parents' Choice Gold and Silver Awards, two Indie Awards, the Storytelling World Award and many others.
Monterey Bay Charter School with sponsorship by Ausonio Inc. and the support of Central Coast Federal Credit Union and Salinas Valley Roofing has arranged for Mr. Bodkin to perform at two shows that will enchant families and provide an exciting and unique theater experience on the Central Coast.
"Storytelling is such a large part of our school curriculum, we felt bringing Mr. Bodkin here would be an excellent opportunity to provide something truly special for the community," explained David Hill, Director of Monterey Bay Charter School. "The shows will further our mission in another way as well, as the funds raised will help support arts programs at our school."
Tickets are available for $17 for adults and $15 for children. Families can order tickets by contacting the Monterey Bay Charter School at 831-655-4638. For more information please visit www.oddsbodkin.com and www.mbcharterschool.org.
