With today's announcement of the W300, Sony Ericsson has now announced seven WALKMAN phones in less than a year, targeted at numerous customer segments. From high-end UMTS models such as the new W900 and W950 to models such as the W600 targeting more casual music listeners, Sony Ericsson aims to create a WALKMAN mobile phone for everyone, everywhere.

The W300 WALKMAN phone, which supports both MP3 and AAC music playback, offers a great sound experience with up to 30 hours of music listening. The user experience is enhanced by direct music keys, shuffle function, as well as FM radio with RDS. The handy flight mode allows people to listen to their favorite tracks on airplanes. Disc2Phone software supplied with the phone, allows users to easily transfer their favorite CDs to their mobile phone and enjoy them anywhere, anytime without missing a call.

Featuring expressive colors and a stylish compact design, the W300 includes a removable 256MB Memory Stick Micro(TM) (M2(TM)) card expandable to 1GB, as well as a stereo headset, USB cable and music management software.

In addition to the great music features, the W300 offers an easy way to take and view pictures or record videos using the integrated VGA camera with 4x digital zoom. The phone's 262K TFT color screen makes it perfect for taking fun snapshot and enjoying them on the screen, while full MMS support enables these images to be shared with friends and family.

The high contrast monochrome 1" sub display on the outside of the clamshell allows users to view media player information or caller display without opening the phone.

The W300 is equipped with EDGE Class 10 to allow quick and easy data transfers and Internet access, as well as Bluetooth(R)(TM) technology ideal for sharing data with other Bluetooth-enabled devices.

The Sony Ericsson W300 will be available in Shimmering White and Shadow Black color variants and starts shipping in Q2 2006.
