Late Rap Star to Introduce New 'On Stage' Attraction

LAS VEGAS, Feb. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Madame Tussauds Las Vegas will immortalize the late rap music star Tupac Shakur on April 5 when it opens its new "On Stage" attraction.

The now iconic image of a shirtless Tupac sporting a bandana and displaying his tattoos will join with Prince, Bono, Mick Jagger, Elton John, James Brown, Little Richard, Billy Idol, Elvis and a number other super stars to celebrate the diversity of music.

"We have received more requests from the public to immortalize Tupac than any other rap star," said Adrian Jones, general manager of Madame Tussauds Las Vegas. "It is fitting that he will be the central figure in our new 'On Stage' attraction, which will offer the public a new high-tech system for enjoying the music of all the stars in the attraction. We will have more information about the attraction at a later date."

The unveiling of Tupac will come almost 10 years after his death on September 13, 1996 in Las Vegas. He was fatally wounded in a drive-by shooting on September 7, 1996.

Madame Tussauds Las Vegas is open seven days a week. For attraction hours and pricing, call (702) 862-7800, or visit online at www.mtvegas.com.
