Guerlain, the luxury French fragrance and beauty company, has appointed
Hilary Swank as the spokesperson for its upcoming women's fragrance,
launching in September 2006.
The double Oscar-winning actress will present the 78th Academy
Awards ceremony on March 5th.
Guerlain's heritage and historical legacy is integral to the trusting
relationship it enjoys with those customers in search of the ultimate
expression of luxury. Recent successful launches including L'Instant de
Guerlain fragrances for women and men, KissKiss lipstick and Orchidée
Impériale skincare, along with the reopening of the prestigious La Maison
Guerlain on the Champs-Elysées are testimony to the continued momentum of the
brand.
Today, Guerlain announces its association with an
international film star. In search of more than just a face, Guerlain looked
for a woman with a personality and character that embody the Guerlain spirit.
Guerlain and Hilary Swank are a perfect match. Acting as both muse and
spokesperson, Hilary will inspire and represent Guerlain for the next three
years.
This uniquely talented actress received two Oscars before the age of
thirty and has long been praised for her integrity and credibility on screen.
In all her roles, be it as a delinquent or as a boxer, she has seduced
thousands of film-lovers with her ability to transform into difficult,
challenging and heart rending characters.
A radiant and natural beauty, Hilary displays a clear
determination in all her that she undertakes. This witty, smiling young woman
has boldly and passionately seized her own destiny and it is this force, this
strength, that appealed to the directors of Guerlain.
Guerlain has a tradition of breaking the rules and not bowing
to convention, as seen with so many of its audacious and innovative
creations. Removed from the world of glitter and glamour, Guerlain has
crafted an image of artistry and excellence.
In much the same way, Hilary is renowned for her talent and
energy. Her beauty escapes those who try to define it. Neither fiercely
independent nor desperately vulnerable, she does not conform to stereotypes.
Her background of always opting for the more challenging and 'risky' roles
coupled with her warm and genuine personality, a far cry from the usual
Hollywood mold, were all factors that made her an obvious choice for
Guerlain.
In a rare combination of beauty and talent, heritage and
innovation, Guerlain will proudly reveal its new fragrance, fronted by Hilary
Swank, in September 2006.
