Actor D.B. Sweeney Screens New Movie for Troops in Germany and Italy on USO/AFE Tour
ARLINGTON, Va., Feb. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Actor, director and producer D.B. Sweeney will travel to Italy and Germany to preview his latest movie "Dirt Nap" and visit troops on a USO/Armed Forces Entertainment tour Feb. 22-March 3. The trip will take the actor to several bases in the region and the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany, where troops are recuperating from injuries.

Most recently seen guest-starring on the ABC series "Life As We Know It," Sweeney wrote, produced and directed the new comedy, which premiered at last month's Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews. The story follows three longtime friends on the road trip of a lifetime.
A New York native, Sweeney studied at New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. In 1983, Sweeney made his Broadway debut in "The Caine Mutiny Court Martial." Two years later, he appeared on the small screen in the mystery series "Spenser: For Hire" with Robert Urich.
In 1987, Sweeney earned his big break as "Jackie Willow" in Francis Ford Coppola's "Garden of Stone." The following year, the versatile actor portrayed the legendary "'Shoeless' Joe Jackson" in "Eight Men Out." Over the next 10 years, Sweeney starred in a number of films, including "Memphis Belle," "Fire in the Sky" and "The Cutting Edge." Television credits include "Lonesome Dove," "Miss Rose White" and "Introducing Dorothy Dandridge." He also provided the voice for the animated movies "Dinosaur" and "Brother Bear."
