Stapp Gears Up for First-Ever Solo Tour for The Great Divide

Stapp Gears Up for First-Ever Solo Tour for The Great Divide

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- When you have sold more than 33 million records, three million tickets and performed to audiences worldwide, what's left? How about a club tour! Scott Stapp today announced plans for a North American tour this spring, to begin February 23 in Orlando, Florida.

For the first leg of his first-ever solo tour, Stapp has chosen an up-close and personal approach with intimate club appearances to support the platinum-certified The Great Divide, released on November 22, 2005. Stapp will perform new material, as well as past hits marking this as the first time since 1997 that devotees will be hearing Scott's songs in a club setting. Additionally, The Scott Stapp Foundation will be tying in with a charity to raise money for children's organizations during the tour.

Fans can go to www.ScottStapp.com for exclusive tour and ticket information. Tickets go on sale Saturday, January 21.

Wind-up Records, who released The Great Divide, orchestrated a broad based marketing campaign including major promotions with NASCAR and Major League Baseball, national television, interactive and in-theatre advertising campaigns. This club tour is another approach to reach fans on a more personal level.

As the front man for Creed, Scott Stapp propelled the band to global popularity, selling more than 33 million albums worldwide. Their breakthrough debut album, My Own Prison, was followed by Human Clay, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard charts and has gone on to sell more than 11 million copies. The band's third release, Weathered, also debuted at #1, selling more copies in its first week than any other rock release in 2001 and tied the record with the Beatles for the longest run at the top following a #1 debut where it remained for an amazing 8 weeks selling 6 million copies. The group, which earned a Grammy, several American Music Awards and Billboard Awards, officially disbanded in 2004.
