San Francisco Chronicle Announces Chronicle Jobs TV
SAN FRANCISCO, Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- With the launch of its new Chronicle Jobs television programming, The San Francisco Chronicle now offers employers and job seekers a third way to learn about job openings throughout the Bay Area, Phyllis K. Pfeiffer, senior vice president of advertising, announced today.
"Combining the incredible reach of The Chronicle in print and online (at www.sfgate.com) with a television program three times a week truly makes us the multimedia source for employers and job seekers in the region," Pfeiffer said.
Starting January 23, the 30-minute television show will air on UPN Bay Area Channel 44 (Channel 12 on all local cable systems) at 5:30 a.m. Mondays, and will be repeated at the same time on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
In making the announcement, Pfeiffer touted the value of the multimedia partnership, saying, "No one else in the market is able to offer such an effective and multi-tiered approach to its advertisers in reaching job seekers -- active and passive. We've worked long and hard on this program to make it appealing to advertisers not only on a cost basis but also on a reach and frequency basis."
Help wanted ads running on Chronicle Jobs TV will be up to 30 seconds in length, and will be divided into six categories: general, sales and marketing, professional, health care, skills and trades, and technology. In addition to appearing three consecutive days on Chronicle Jobs TV, the broadcast ads will also be streaming at SFGate.com for a one-week period.
The San Francisco Chronicle is the Bay Area's leading news and information source and has been connecting the region with its award winning journalism since its founding in 1865. Combined with its online partner, SFGate.com, the daily San Francisco Chronicle reaches nearly 1.5 million Bay Area residents and the Sunday Chronicle reaches more than 1.6 million. The six time Pulitzer Prize-winning Chronicle is the nation's 10th largest daily newspaper and SFGate.com is the nation's fourth largest newspaper website with 5.3 million monthly unique visitors and over 64 million monthly page views.
