Bryan, of The Disney Channel's hit movie and double platinum selling soundtrack The Cheetah Girls -- stars in a 95 minute dance fitness DVD called BYOU (SONY BMG; $14.98). The DVD was created so that girls can have fun learning the latest dance moves and get fit at the same time. It combines pop and hip hop dance movements with strength and cardio training in three routines moving from beginner to advanced. Along with the DVD, the Sony BMG Strategic Marketing Group will also release a companion BYOU CD (SONY BMG; $11.98) which has all nine songs that are on the DVD including the title track "BYOU" by Bryan. The DVD and CD will be available in stores on January 17, 2006. BYOU is the first fitness brand created solely for girls.

"It's important for everyone, no matter what age to learn how to move their body," said Bryan, who has been a professional dancer for more than 10 years. "Keeping active is a vital component to staying fit and healthy and to feeling good about you."

BYOU is aimed at tween girls from 8 - 14 years old. In addition to an alarming obesity rate among children in America, studies have shown that girls tend to lose their self confidence during these years, developing negative feelings about their looks and their bodies. With a very large and faithful following of fans in this age group, Bryan is delighted to use her talents as a performer to create an entertaining learning tool to raise self-esteem.

"I hear from many girls who feel pressure to look a certain way and who lack a strong self image to just be themselves," said Bryan, who is backed up on the routines by a posse of girls of different ethnic backgrounds with a variety of body shapes and sizes. "I'm very excited about BYOU. Being yourself is all about being comfortable in your own skin and nothing makes you feel more confident than dancing."

Moving her body comes naturally to Bryan who excels in all types of dance, including hip-hop, ballet and tap. The multi-talented Orange County native is well-known for her role as Dorinda, of the Disney Channel's The Cheetah Girls, a movie about a group of four Manhattan high schoolers who pursue their dream of singing superstardom. Bryan will reprise her role in the movie's sequel planned for 2006.

The first BYOU routine is PURE FUN -- a long workout version with high intensity cardio that gives girls a sense of accomplishment quickly. Then comes DANCE PARTY, a remix of moves learned in PURE FUN, so girls can just get down and dance. FULL BLAST is the advanced routine with fresh, funky new moves also incorporating moves learned in PURE FUN. Once you've mastered PURE FUN and DANCE PARTY, FULL BLAST will challenge your newly learned skills. There is a bonus section in which moves are broken down step-by-step so everyone can go at their own pace.

The SONY BMG Strategic Marketing Group has teamed up with a distinguished group of talent in order to make BYOU possible. The talent behind BYOU includes Debra Martin Chase, Academy Award and Emmy nominated motion picture and television producer, who is the Co-Creator and Producer of the DVD. Internationally renowned fitness author and trainer, Linda Shelton, the other BYOU producer, perfected the program's design to intertwine dance and fitness to meet guidelines appropriate for tweens. Shelton is the Fitness Director for the Weider/AMI fitness lifestyle publications including Shape, Fit, Pregnancy and Natural Health. Shelton and her fitness team road-tested the program with a variety of tweens, making sure that the program was safe, effective and of course, fun.

"BYOU really speaks to tween girls and stars a very gifted performer and a great role model," said Chase, whose producing credits include The Princess Diaries, The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement and The Cheetah Girls for Disney and The Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants for Warner Brothers. "This is an exciting breakthrough product that fills a big void and we know girls and their parents will love the concept and message of BYOU!"
