Montgomery Gentry Generate Funds to Benefit Various Charities at the Sprint Sound & Speed Event:
A Celebration of Music & Motorsports
NEW YORK, Jan. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- This past weekend, the NASCAR Sound and Speed event took place in Nashville, featuring an energetic performance by country duo, Montgomery Gentry. During a live auction on Friday night, NASCAR driver Michael Waltrip literally took the hat off of Eddie Montgomery's head and asked if anyone would bid $5000 for the piece of memorabilia. Bids immediately began flying and the staggering $12,000 bid was made by Bobby LaBonte. This followed Troy Gentry's winning big on a Kyle Petty pit pass and the opportunity to be a crew member for a race of Troy's choosing. Vince Gill jokingly warned Kyle to "make sure his water bottle wasn't spiked with Jim Beam."
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Victory Junction Gang Camp for children with life-threatening illnesses and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum charities.
In addition to the excitement generated by the silent auction, 357 Customs motorcycles built 3 custom bikes: one for Eddie Montgomery, one for Troy Gentry, and one was given away to a lucky fan. Eddie and Troy presented the bike backstage to Paul Wagner from Port St. Lucie, Florida. (http://www.357customs.com/)
