KARE-TV Receives Special Olympics Minnesota's 2005 Outstanding Media Coverage Award
MINNEAPOLIS, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- KARE-TV was honored with the 2005 Special Olympics Minnesota Outstanding Media Coverage Award at the 20th Annual Distinguished Service Awards banquet in Minnetonka Saturday, Jan. 21. The Distinguished Service Awards recognize Special Olympics Minnesota athletes, coaches, volunteers, sponsors and family members who demonstrated an outstanding amount of support, enthusiasm and time commitment to the organization in 2005.
In 2005, KARE-TV created, shot, edited and ran a Public Service Announcement, which provided Special Olympics Minnesota broad coverage on the top-rated Twin Cities television station. Anchor and Sports Producer Tim McNiff served on the Board of Directors and volunteers at events throughout the year. KARE's support of Special Olympics Minnesota for more than 20 years and continued participation is deeply appreciated.
The 2006 Distinguished Service Awards banquet was held Saturday, Jan. 21 at the Minneapolis Marriott Southwest in Minnetonka.
