Two-hour Special from Santa Monica's Barker Hangar Honors the Best and Brightest from the History of Television

NEW YORK, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- TV Land today announced that Emmy Award-winning actress and star of NBC's Will & Grace will serve as host at the fourth annual TV Land Awards: A Celebration of Classic TV, which will tape on Sunday, March 19, 2006 at the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica, CA before premiering on TV Land on Wednesday, March 22 at 9PM (ET/PT). The announcement was made today by Larry W. Jones, President, TV Land and Nick at Nite.

The TV Land Awards is the network's fourth annual salute to Classic TV stars, shows and the individuals whose work has endured the test of time. Several awards will be bestowed upon some of television's legendary series' and stars, which the network will announce in the coming weeks. Throughout the two-hour telecast, TV Land will feature dozens of celebrated past and present TV performers as well as musical tributes, show parodies and reunions of some of the most iconic casts from televisions' most beloved shows.

Megan Mullally is seen weekly in her Emmy and 3-time SAG Award-winning role of "Karen Walker" on NBC's Will & Grace. This fall, she will host her own daytime syndicated talk show, The Megan Mullally Show on NBC Universal. Mullally made her Broadway debut in the 1994 revival of Grease with Rosie O'Donnell before going on to win the Outer Critics Circle Award nomination for her portrayal of "Rosemary" opposite Matthew Broderick in Broadway's How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Additionally, she has appeared in numerous stage productions in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Her singing career has brought her to such venues as Lincoln Center and The Kennedy Center, where she has performed with her band, Supreme Music Program (SMP) as well as The Disney Concert Hall, where she appeared as a soloist. Upcoming performances from California to New York are also slated. Megan has made two records with SMP, including the recently released Big as a Berry, available on CD.

Awards Show Honors the Best of Television

The fourth annual TV Land Awards: A Celebration of Classic TV, will be taped on Sunday, March 19 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, CA, and will air on TV Land on Wednesday, March 22 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. The special recognizes shows and stars from television's rich history which have truly withstood the test of time. This year's show will be hosted by Megan Mullally star of NBC's Will and Grace.

Last year's homage to classic television featured unforgettable moments such as Emmy Award winner Ray Romano presenting the cast of The Bob Newhart Show with the "Icon Award". Famed TV stars Jaclyn Smith, Gavin McLeod, Bernie Kopell, Joan Collins, Michael Cole, Tori Spelling, Jason Priestly, Jennie Garth, Luke Perry, Catherine Hicks and Stephen Collins all paid tribute to Aaron Spelling. Creator and executive producer Marc Cherry accepted the "Future Classic Award" from show star Teri Hatcher. Soul Train creator and executive producer Don Cornelius accepted the "Pop Culture Award" on behalf of the program while musical artists Stevie Wonder, Little Richard, Smokey Robinson, Mya, Ashanti and more paid homage to the show. And Emmy Award-winner Garry Shandling presented the cast of The Carol Burnett Show with the "Legend Award."
