Hopkinsville Native Brice Long to Perform at 2006 KY Hall of Fame Inductions

NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Columbia Nashville recording artist and Hopkinsville, KY, native Brice Long will perform his current single, "Anywhere But Here," at the 2006 Kentucky Music Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Lexington, KY, on February 23. The ceremony will be held at the Lexington Convention Center and is open to the public.

Nine Kentucky artists from various genres will be inducted in the "Class of 2006": Sam Bush, John Conlee, Todd Duncan, Lionel Hampton, The Judds, John Jacob Niles, Mary Travers and Dottie Rambo. Performers and presenters include Long, KY Governor Ernie Fletcher, Lily Tomlin, and John Michael Montgomery, among others.

Brice signed to Columbia Records in 2004 and teamed with award-winning producers Mark Wright (Gretchen Wilson, Brooks & Dunn) and Keith Stegall (Alan Jackson, George Jones) for his self-titled debut album, due in stores later this year. His current single, "Anywhere But Here," is climbing the radio charts. He has written songs recorded by artists such as John Michael Montgomery, Josh Turner, Randy Travis and saw his first #1 single with Gary Allan's version of "Nothing On But the Radio."

Long grew up on a 60-acre farm just outside of Hopkinsville, Kentucky, where he worked the fields, tended cattle and hogs and kept his ears glued to the local country radio station. After high school, he spent time on the competitive roping circuit before pursuing a career in country music. Brice performed at nightclubs in Tennessee and Kentucky and opened shows for national touring country artists. He finished college at Middle Tennessee State University and signed his first writing deal with Reba's Starstruck Entertainment. Brice continues to tour the country in support of his single and upcoming album.
