PLENTY Magazine and Global Green USA Team Up To Create First Ever Got Plenty? Campaign to Benefit the Environment
NEW YORK, Jan. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- Daryl Hannah, Lucy Liu, Lili Taylor, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Liz Phair, Vanessa Carlton, Stephan Jenkins, Adrian Grenier, Jack Osbourne, Sally Kirkland, Terrence Howard, Rufus Wainwright and Hill Harper are just some of the celebrities who have joined PLENTY, the leading environmental lifestyle magazine and Global Green USA, a national environmental group founded by President Gorbachev, to bring a little extra social consciousness to this year's Sundance Film Festival by collecting donations of celebrity swag items to help raise funds toward building a sustainable future.
From cell phones to sexy jeans to designer brand purses, consumers will get a chance to bid on some of the hottest swag items given out at this year's Sundance Festival when the auction kicks off on eBay beginning February 1st with the proceeds to benefit Global Green USA. Global Green is the organization responsible for working with Hollywood to raise environmental consciousness around the world and is particularly well-known for its annual Red Carpet, Green Cars campaign where celebrity supporters including Leonardo DiCaprio, Salma Hayek, Orlando Bloom, Charlize Theron, Cameron Diaz, Penelope Cruz and many others arrive at the Academy Awards in fuel-efficient hybrid cars.
"With the notion that swag and gifting are becoming more and more a part of celebrity outreach, we thought this would be a great platform to reach the masses and promote the idea of giving back and going green," said Mark Spellun, editor-in-chief PLENTY magazine. "We hope that each item auctioned will generate the much needed awareness towards protecting our environment and living a little more environmentally friendly."
"We are so pleased to have been chosen as the official charity of the Got PLENTY? campaign. Global Green continues to receive enormous support from the Hollywood community and we're especially excited by this inaugural partnership at Sundance," said Matt Petersen, President of Global Green USA. "It's great to see so many influential people and high-profile companies getting behind a program like this and we look forward to utilizing the resources gained to further implement our critical environmental work including smart solutions for global warming."
