NOGGIN and The N Boast Their Best Years Ever and End 2005 on Ratings High

NEW YORK, Dec. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- NOGGIN, the commercial-free, educational network for preschoolers and its evening companion, The N, the nighttime network for teens, wrap 2005 on a year-end ratings high.

The N increased full year 2005 ratings by +35% among teens compared to 2004*. Additionally, the network's ratings among W12-17 grew by +33% and ratings for M12-17 increased by +58% as the network began to pick up additional male viewers in 2005. Each quarter in 2005 grew by double digits over the same quarter in 2004 with increases as high as +50%. Degrassi: The Next Generation had its best season ever in summer, 2005, ranking number one in its time period on Friday's at 8:00 p.m. (ET) among teens and female teens, compared to all ad-supported cable networks.

The N, which continues to be a top destination for viewers in its core P12-17 target audience, debuted two new original series in 2005, Instant Star (summer, 2005) and South of Nowhere (fall, 2005). Each new series became the number two rated program on the network second only to Degrassi. Instant Star also ranked number one among female teens in its regularly scheduled Friday premiere (8:30 - 9:00 pm, ET) time period among all broadcast and ad-supported cable networks. Instant Star averaged a 1.2 teen rating in its first season. Additionally, in 4Q'05, the network's website, The-N.com averaged over half a million unique visitors, a +15% increase over 4Q'04.

On the preschool side, NOGGIN increased ratings among kids 2-5 by +12% and total viewers by +24% in 2005 compared to 2004. 4Q'05 was NOGGIN's highest rated quarter ever, with a 1.8 K2-5 rating, which was +17% higher than 4Q'04 and +33% higher than 4Q'03. Additionally, year to year, the network's website, Noggin.com's unique visitors increased by +44% in 2005 compared to 2004.

The N, the nighttime network for teens, is a programming arm of MTV Networks and is currently available in 45 million households via cable, digital cable and satellite television. The N's mission is to be the authentic voice for teens and help them figure out their lives with relevant, topical programming on-air and online at the network's web site http://www.the-n.com/.
