LOS ANGELES, Dec. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Hosts Ananda Lewis (NBC's "The Insider"), and Taraji Henson (Hustle & Flow) will kick off the 10th Anniversary of the Multicultural Prism Awards to be held Thursday December 15, 2005 at the Universal City Hilton Hotel located at 555 Universal Hollywood Dr. Universal City, CA 91608.

Celebrities and musicians from today's hottest films and TV shows will be presenting the awards to honorees such as Vivica A. Fox, John Singleton, Jimmy Smits, Naveen Andrews (Lost), Vanessa Marcil, Kellita Smith, Constance Marie, Mike Tyson, Farrah Gray, Joe Jackson, Edgar Zamora, Verena Mei, Philip Hart, Robert Blackwell, and more! The show will feature performances by a diverse group of legendary musicians and today's hottest artists including R&B sensation Tyrese, Elise Neal, dancers from the hit movie "RIZE," the opera of Three Mo' Tenors, Gospel Artists William Murphy and Vicki Yohe, Latin sensation Serralde, Lorenzo Owens of Oprah's Pop Star Challenge, Hip Hop Artist Jin, and others. The 10th Annual Multicultural Prism Awards Gala reaches a milestone. This star-studded celebration will benefit displaced children through the Katrina Missing Children's Coalition. This year's theme, "Tragedy to Triumph...Hollywood Cares" aims to support those affected by the physical and economic devastation caused by hurricane Katrina. The awards gala will celebrate and honor outstanding artists, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and corporations who set trends, make history and act as ambassadors whose direct efforts encourage positive change in their businesses and communities. In addition, a portion of the proceeds will benefit victims of Hurricane Katrina. Proceeds from charitable donations will be used to help displaced children and minority business owners rebuild and reclaim their businesses.
