Lifetime Television Names Twenty-Year Media Relations Executive Neil Schubert As New Senior Vice President, Publicity
NEW YORK, Dec. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Lifetime Television has named Neil Schubert, whose more than 20 years in television media relations includes positions at Universal, Warner Bros., ABC and Orion, as its new Senior Vice President, Publicity, it was announced today by Meredith Wagner, Executive Vice President, Public Affairs and Corporate Communications, Lifetime Entertainment Services.
Reporting to Wagner, Schubert will be based in the company's Los Angeles office, effective immediately.
In his new position, Schubert will oversee all consumer publicity for Lifetime Television and Lifetime Movie Network, basic cable's two most popular women's networks, along with Lifetime Real Women. These national media relations campaigns will support such programming as the powerhouse lineup of #1 rated Lifetime Original Movies and the reality series "Cheerleader Nation" and "Face the Family," premiering in 2006.
"Neil brings a wealth of experience in all the myriad facets of public relations, from working with talent and producers to his trusted relationships with the nation's press, all of which will prove invaluable to us as we launch our next generation of programming," said Wagner.
From 1995-2004, Schubert worked at Universal Television Productions, rising to the position of Senior Vice President, Publicity, Advertising & Promotion, where he was responsible for developing the publicity campaigns for the hit "Law & Order" franchise including "Law & Order," "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" and "Law & Order: Criminal Intent."
During his career at Universal, he also oversaw the campaigns for other series such as "Just Shoot Me," "Coach" and the critically acclaimed dramas "American Dreams" and "Karen Sisco."
Prior to that, he held publicity positions at Warner Bros. Television, Orion Television Entertainment, ABC Entertainment and WBZ-TV/Boston. Most recently, he served as a Public Relations Consultant for E! and Style Networks.
Schubert is a graduate of Boston University with a Bachelor of Science in Communications.
