- Industry Expert and IFPI Chairman Emeritus, Jason Berman Joins Wurld's Board of Directors and Assists in the Continuing Development of Peer Impact -

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y., Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Wurld Media announced today the addition of Jason S. Berman to the company's Board of Directors. Wurld Media, the creators of the legal peer-to-peer (P2P) network, Peer Impact, made the announcement following recent news that they had secured both a new financial team and internal general counsel. The company says that they will continue to actively pursue new talent for their expanding team as a result of persistent growth.

Jay Berman brings with him a tremendous set of accomplishments and industry expertise. His background includes over 30 years in the music industry, beginning in the early 1970s as a United States Senate Aide, working on the Copyright Act of 1976. From there, he went to Warner Communications where he was responsible for representing Warner labels on the Board of the Recording Industry Association of America. In 1987, he was appointed President and Chief Executive of the RIAA and in 1992, he was elected Chairman of the RIAA and served in that capacity until 1999, when he left to work as Special Counsel for Trade to President Clinton. He was elected Chairman of IFPI in 1999 and served in London for six years. He is now based in New York as Chairman Emeritus of the IFPI. The IFPI is the trade organization of the international recording industry; its members consist of more than 1,500 record producers and distributors worldwide and include affiliate national groups in over 46 countries.
