DULUTH, Ga., Nov. 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Wegener Corporation (NASDAQ:WGNR), a leading provider of television, audio and data distribution networks worldwide, announces a speaker at the Government Video Technology Expo, held in Washington DC, November 30-December 1st. The presentation is part of the expo's Government Video Conference, providing strategic overviews of technology and production techniques, and leveraging technology for maximum return on investment and total cost of ownership.

Gary Pelkey, Vice President and System Architect at WEGENER, will present his paper titled "Convergence in Distance Learning," co-authored by Melanie Charles, Marketing Communications Specialist at WEGENER. The talk will be December 1st, between 12 noon - 2pm in the Do It Yourself: Media Moving and Storage session and will outline the new generation of hybrid media servers that combine the capabilities of satellite receiver, media server and router to support distance learning applications.

Mr. Pelkey has worked at WEGENER for 22 years in various Design and Management capacities and is the author of several WEGENER patents. Ms. Charles has worked at WEGENER for the last 2 years in the Marketing department.
