NASA's First Black Mission-Control Flight Director on Duty
The first African-American to lead Mission Control is working shifts as a flight director for the International Space Station. Kwatsi Alibaruho (kwat- ZEE ah-lee-BA-ru-HO) completed more than seven hundred hours of training and began active duty in August. Since the beginning of America's space program, only fifty-eight people have directed human spaceflight missions. The flight director class of 2005 is the second largest ever appointed and the most diverse. The nine-member group also includes three women and two Hispanics. A flight director leads a team of flight controllers, support personnel and engineering experts.

ABC News Radio's Ann Compton to Be Inducted Into National Radio Hall of Fame
ABC News Radio's White House Correspondent, Ann Compton, will be inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in Chicago on Saturday, November fifth. Compton has been ABC News White House Correspondent since 1974. She is one of five inductees into this year's National Radio Hall of Fame. The others are Comedians Bud Abbott and Lou Costello of Abbott and Costello, Cincinnati Reds broadcaster Marty Brennaman, Pittsburgh Steelers commentator Myron Cope and radio humorist Jean Shepherd.
