'NUMB3RS' Creators to Appear at CMC South Annual Conference to Promote 'We All Use Math Every Day(TM)' Education Program

CBS TV Executive Producers' Appearance on November 4 to Include Panel Discussion and Q&A

PALM SPRINGS, Calif., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Nick Falacci and Cheryl Heuton, the Executive Producers / Creators of the Paramount / CBS hit TV show "NUMB3RS" will appear at the California Mathematics Council (CMC) South Annual Conference on November 4 in Palm Springs, California. Falacci and Heuton will be on hand to promote a new mathematics education program, "We All Use Math Every Day(TM)," developed by Texas Instruments (TI) and in association with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM).

"We All Use Math Every Day(TM)," based on the hit series "NUMB3RS," is a unique outreach program that uses the math featured on the TV series to engage and interest more students in the subject matter and help them see how it impacts their world. The program includes classroom activities for teachers and students that can be found on cbs.com/numb3rs. "NUMB3RS" airs Friday nights (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Falacci and Heuton created the series about an FBI Agent who enlists his mathematical genius brother to help solve crimes. They will be participating in a Q&A session about the show and meeting with math teacher attendees afterward to hear feedback about how "NUMB3RS" has inspired them to get more interested in the use of math beyond the classroom.

The CMC South conference, entitled "Creating Mathematical Curiosity: Challenging Minds for Deeper Meaning," takes place November 4-5 at the Palm Springs Convention Center and will attract more than 4000 educators from southern California.
