By combining audio, video, animation and interactive technologies, Beginner Guitar Lessons, Level 1 and 2, provides a uniquely fun and easy way for musicians to learn and play songs on their guitar. Each lesson presents four on-screen panels that demonstrate a basic guitar skill or technique from different angles. To help beginners master a song, or to enable a "karaoke-style" sing-along, a guitar, vocal or scrolling text sections can be easily added or removed. Beginner Guitar Lessons, Level 1 and 2, are each available for $24.95 as a DVD or download at www.iplaymusic.com.
"Millions of consumers spend billions of dollars on guitars each year, yet traditional music instruction hasn't kept up with their needs," said Stewart Putney, president of iPlayMusic. "Our beginner-focused instruction was designed for today's consumer who can pick up an affordable guitar at their local store, take it home and immediately have fun playing songs with their family. We know most people learn visually, so our lessons eliminate the need for old-school teaching methods that concentrate on scales, notes and music theory. Instead, we use video demonstrations to provide step-by-step guitar instructions, and include lyrics so the entire family can sing-along and enjoy the music they love."
Beginner Guitar Lessons, Level 1, introduces the musician to guitar basics and musical styles. Guitar anatomy, chords, strumming patterns and transitions are demonstrated, as is an introduction to various musical styles, including rock, blues, country and more. Level 1 is available in DVD or as a download, featuring two hours of video instruction and an 80-page book. It also features five songs made famous by artists like Eric Clapton, Creedence Clearwater Revival and The Beach Boys, including Sloop John B.; Corrina, Corrina; The Midnight Special; Will the Circle Be Unbroken; and Salty Dog.
Beginner Guitar Lesson, Level 2, presents the next step in content for players interested in mastering the guitar. They are introduced to riffs, licks and tricks that expand on the rock, blues and country styles introduced in Level 1. In addition musicians are introduced to new styles such as reggae and 12 bar-blues. Available as a DVD or download, Level 2 includes two hours of video instruction. It also includes four level-appropriate songs made famous by artists like The Grateful Dead, Bob Marley and Leadbelly, including Goin' Down the Road Feelin' Bad, Sinner Man, Careless Love, and Red River Valley.
A variety of free, online resources are available on iPlayMusic's web site to help beginning players understand and master the guitar. New song titles, training tips and resource materials will continue to be added each month.
