Harry Potter Tickets Casting a Spell on Fandango in Advance of the Film's Nov. 18 Opening

Goblet is Fandango's Fastest Selling Potter Film to Date; 47 Percent of Moviegoers Say Goblet is Favorite Potter Novel

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- An unstoppable phenomenon for both readers and moviegoers alike, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is already generating magical advance ticket sales online. The highly anticipated movie is accounting for the majority of Fandango's weekly ticket sales, two full weeks before its November 18 release date.

At this point in the film's sales cycle, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire is Fandango's fastest selling Potter installment to date. In 2004, the last Potter film, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban broke several Fandango records, including hourly, daily and weekly sales. In a recent poll on www.fandango.com, the majority (47 percent) of moviegoing voters picked Goblet as their favorite novel in the J.K. Rowling series, another indicator of the strong anticipation for the movie version.

"Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire has ranked among Fandango's top selling movies since tickets first became available," says Fandango President and CEO, Art Levitt. "The previous Potter films were amazingly successful and we expect Goblet to be another box office behemoth. We're anticipating huge crowds, as fans flock to Fandango to buy tickets in advance to avoid facing 'sold out' signs at the theaters."

About Fandango

Fandango, the nation's largest movie ticketing service, sells tickets to approximately 13,000 screens and 1,100 theaters (nearly 70 percent of theaters in the U.S. enabled for remote ticketing) and to four out of the five largest U.S. theater circuits (according to National Association of Theater Owners, June 2005). A consortium of the nation's largest theater chains (including Regal Entertainment Group, Carmike Cinemas, Cinemark, Loews Cineplex Entertainment and Century Theatres, among others), Fandango sells tickets to more screens than all of its competitors combined. One of the Web's top movie destinations (according to Nielsen//NetRatings), Fandango allows moviegoers to quickly select a film, plan where and when to see it, read reviews, view trailers and buy tickets up to 45 days in advance.
