Cooper Wiring Devices Donates Products to Hit ABC Reality Show

PEACHTREE CITY, Ga., Nov. 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Cooper Wiring Devices recently donated electrical products to ABC's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition to accommodate a 12,000 square-foot home in a suburb of Washington, D.C. for the episode airing October 30th.

Cooper Wiring Devices' donation consisted of nearly 300 separate items; including Decorator switches and receptacles, Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters and WeatherBox(TM) While-In-Use Weatherproof covers.

Veronica Ginyard, a single mother, and her seven children were living in a two-bedroom home, in Capitol Heights, MD. A few of the children were using the unventilated attic and the basement for bedrooms. With mold in the basement (a result of constant flooding), holes in the walls and ceilings, and live wires exposed from the drywall, it was unsafe and becoming uninhabitable

The cast and crew of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, along with friends and family of the Ginyard's, began the rebuild on August 15th using various products, including Cooper Wiring Devices' Decorator electrical products. Three days later, the three-story state-of-the-art dream home was unveiled to the Ginyard family.

"Cooper Wiring Devices has a long history of giving back to the community. This, along with other work with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, shows our continued commitment to good corporate citizenship," said Jim Knapik, vice president of Marketing, Cooper Wiring Devices.

Cooper Wiring Devices' product was distributed to Somerset Homes, the builder of the Ginyard house, through Cooper Wiring Devices' local distributor, Litehouse Electric.
