Brian Setzer Orchestra Joins Blue Cross in Fight Against Hunger

Addition to concert series will increase benefits of local food banks

EAGAN, Minn., Nov. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota has added the Brian Setzer Orchestra to the lineup of their benefit concert series. After the success of the first two concerts of the series, Brian Setzer (formerly of the Stray Cats) and his big band joined forces with Blue Cross to help the local food banks. The group, which blends rock n' roll, jump blues, rockabilly and swing, will perform at 8 p.m. on Nov. 16 at the Historic State Theatre in Minneapolis.

Donations, including the Blue Cross dollar-for-dollar match, for the previous concerts total more than $25,000. With each dollar donated providing five meals and $9 worth of food, 125,258 meals have been donated and $225,463.68 in food has been provided.

Supporting local hunger-relief efforts, the concert series is a collaboration with City Pages, 89.3 the Current, and Sue McLean & Associates.
