Universal Studios Hollywood Promotes Matthew Poyer to Vice President, Attractions and Scott Strobl to Vice President, Operations Services
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif., Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Universal Studios Hollywood has promoted veteran employees Matthew Poyer to Vice President, Attractions and Scott Strobl to Vice President Operations Service, it was announced by Michael Taylor, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Universal Studios Hollywood.
In his new role, Mr. Poyer will be responsible for overseeing operations, budgeting, guest service initiates and labor for Universal Studios Hollywood attractions, while supervising a work force of more than 600 theme park employees.
A 27-year veteran of Universal Studios Hollywood, Mr. Poyer began his career with the theme park at the age of 16-years and rose from positions as a cook, Food Warehouse Manager, Food Facilities Manager and Director of Maintenance and Parking Services to Director of Upper Lot Attractions before assuming his most recent post of Vice President, Attractions. During his tenure at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk, Mr. Poyer also served as part of teams responsible for developing the theme park's parking infrastructure and CityWalk's expansion in 2000.
As the newly tapped Vice President of Operations Services, Mr. Strobl will have oversight of several theme park divisions, including Environmental Health and Safety, Attractions Safety & Compliance, Loss Prevention & Security, Park Services, Park Operations Management and Administrative Services, responsible for the planning, development and budgeting of programs and initiatives within each group. Over 400 theme park employees will report directly to Mr. Strobl.
A 23-year veteran of Universal Studios Hollywood, Mr. Strobl also began his career with the theme park 1982 at the age of 16-years. Since then, he has held numerous positions in Food Services, including Food Warehouse Manager and Food Service Facilities Manager. He spent two years at Universal Studios Japan as Director of Food Service Administration before relocating back to Universal City, CA.
