Tulalip Tribes Pledges to Match 100% of Proceeds from Event; American Red

Who: The Tulalip Tribes and the Tulalip Amphitheatre have announced
plans to turn the September 11 blues concert and barbeque into
a benefit for Hurricane Katrina relief. 100 percent of ticket
sale proceeds will be designated for hurricane relief. In
addition, the Tulalip Tribes have agreed to match 100 percent
of the proceeds raised from the concert.
The concert includes all-star lineup of blues greats such as
Curtis Salgado, Duffy Bishop, Nicole Fournier, and Lee Oskar
(additional bands to be announced). Local vendors such as
Staffpro, Seattle Stage Lighting and Equipment, Rhino Labor,
Hollywood Lights and Point Source Audio, have agreed to donate
their services at the event.
Why: According to Tribal Chairman Stan G. Jones Sr., "The victims of
this disaster are in desperate need. Those of us who are more
fortunate must do what we can to help. We are grateful to the
musicians and their production crews for donating all proceeds
to the Hurricane Katrina relief efforts of the American Red
Cross. We have pledged to match every dollar raised at this
event."
