Whatevershow.com Launches for Twin Cities Teenagers

MINNEAPOLIS, Aug. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- A new Website is open and ready to feed the media appetites of teenagers in the Twin Cities. Whatevershow.com is a new site inspired by the popular Whatever! show on KARE 11, the Twin Cities NBC affiliate.

"Our success with Whatever!, the television show, has taught us that teenagers need their own media space to talk with each other," said John Remes, president and general manager of KARE 11. "Whatevershow.com will be a natural stop for teens who navigate the virtual world with speed and purpose."

"The Web is where we go for the information we want," said Katie, an Apple Valley teen and Whatever! reporter. "This is a one-stop spot for whatever is on the minds of Twin Cities teens," she added.

And what are those interests? Features include fashion, music, movies, contests, opinion polls and sports. Users can expect to find more serious issues like health or college covered from a teen perspective. Of special note is a calendar of local events for teens and streamed video features from the Whatever! television show.

Teen reporters who appear on Whatever! (Saturdays at 10 a.m. and Sundays at 7 a.m. on KARE 11) will contribute to Whatevershow.com. Their input was key in developing the site and they will have a voice in the development and evolution of the site. Whatever! reporters are drawn from more than 15 area high schools.
