VELVET REVOLVER Drummer Injures Hand
Velvet Revolver drummer Matt Sorum suffered a fractured hand as the result of a recent boating accident, and it appears that he will be unable to perform on the first few dates of the band's upcoming headlining tour. After a brief hiatus in July, Velvet Revolver 's "Electric Wonderland Show" arena tour is scheduled to resume on August 11 in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. The band will play seven solo dates before joining Ozzfest on August 23 in Albuquerque New Mexico. Sorum is currently in physical therapy and plans to resume playing with the band on the first date of Ozzfest. It is still undecided as to who the band will choose to serve as a temporary drummer during Sorum's absence.
