Jonathan Finn Named Vice President Communications, Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products
NEW YORK, Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Jonathan Finn has been named to the newly created position of Vice President Communications, Nickelodeon & Viacom Consumer Products. In this role, Finn is responsible for the management and execution of the publicity efforts for all Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products. The announcement was made today by Dan Martinsen, Executive Vice President, Corporate Communications, Nickelodeon Networks, to whom Finn will report.
In his new position, Finn will lead the planning and orchestration of press strategies for all Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products in the U.S. He will also partner with MTV Networks International press departments to help support strategies for international consumer product launches, and collaborate with Paramount Consumer Products to coordinate the publicity strategies for its various merchandising programs. Finn will assist in managing the press efforts for MTV Network's recent acquisition, NeoPets, as its consumer products plans are developed as well.
Finn joins Nickelodeon as a skilled veteran in marketing and public relations with more than twenty years of experience. For the past eight years, he worked for Old Navy, most recently as a Senior Director of Public Relations, and led the publicity, field marketing and promotional efforts for the brand. In addition to launching several Old Navy flagship stores, Finn was responsible for creative, notable press campaigns such as establishing "The First Official Day of Flip-Flops," outfitting Manhattan taxis with Old Navy Performance Fleece, and integrating product into American Idol. He also began a national cause-marking program for Old Navy to restore arts education programs in the nation's public schools, and expanded the brand's grassroots field-marketing program.
Prior to Old Navy, Finn served in a variety of marketing management roles in the non-profit, entertainment and publishing industries. His past experience (1993-1997) includes creating and launching an award-winning high-end fundraising resale store to benefit The AIDS Action Committee of Massachusetts. Finn also served as Associate Publisher for GBH Magazine in Boston (1987-1990); and launched ADWEEK's Marketing Computers magazine (originally Computer & Electronics Marketing) as Sales Director (1982-1986).
A graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Finn resides in New York City.
