Cablevision to Market TiVo and Wireless Router Along With Triple Play in the Nation's Largest Cable Cluster

BETHPAGE, N.Y. and ALVISO, Calif., Aug. 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cablevision Systems Corporation, one of the nation's leading entertainment and telecommunications companies, and TiVo Inc. (NASDAQ:TIVO), the creator of and a leader in television services for digital video recorders (DVR), today announced an agreement to test market TiVo and a wireless router along with Cablevision's triple play offer to current satellite customers.

Cablevision, which serves the nation's largest cable cluster, provides an increasingly integrated suite of Optimum-branded digital services that have all achieved industry-leading levels of customer penetration. These services, actively marketed as a comprehensive "Optimum Triple Play," are iO: Interactive Optimum digital cable, Optimum Online high-speed Internet access and Optimum Voice digital voice-over-cable (VoIP).

Under the agreement, Cablevision will trial a TiVo DVR with wireless router offer, enabling a broadband return without need for a telephone line, to current satellite customers who sign up for the Optimum Triple Play, for the best performance and value in digital television, high speed Internet and voice.
