U.S. Adults Paying Less Attention to the Events in Afghanistan Than Those in Iraq
A Harris Poll says while the U-S public has been paying a fair amount of attention to the situation in Iraq, they have not been paying as much attention to Afghanistan. However, when asked specifically about the situation in Afghanistan, U-S adults, on the whole, feel quite negative about the prospects for success.
For instance, nearly twice as many U-S adults feel the situation for U-S troops in Afghanistan is getting worse rather than getting better. However, 37 percent feel there has not been any real change and another 16 percent are not sure.

Forty-seven percent of workers say they have gained weight since starting their present jobs, according to a recent CareerBuilder.com survey. The survey offers the following tips to help workers fight the bulge at work:

Parking Rates On the Rise For the Second Consecutive Year, According to Colliers International
Parking costs have increased for the second year in a row, making commuting more expensive nationwide, according to the fifth annual North American Parking Rate survey from Colliers International. With 48 U-S markets and ten Canadian markets under study, Colliers' survey shows that monthly parking rates posted measured increases, and daily parking rates showed more significant gains of approximately seven percent over the past 12 months, U-S only. The monthly rate increase reflects parking facility owners' and operators' response to a healthier business climate coupled with rising employment -- enabling them to charge more for monthly parking.
Monthly unreserved rates registered a high of 798 dollars in New York Midtown and a low of 20 dollars in Memphis, Tennessee. Nationally, the average unreserved parking rate is 147-dollars-and-57 cents per month.
