Natalie Grant's 'Awaken' Enjoying Unprecedented Sales Growth, Including a #1 at iTunes

NASHVILLE, Tenn., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Curb Records recording artist Natalie Grant is having a really good year. Her sophomore Curb project, Awaken, released in March, is receiving rave reviews and making a stellar climb to the top of the charts. Her single, Held, has generated unprecedented emotional responses from radio listeners and concertgoers.

"The radio story is just remarkable," says John Butler, VP of Radio Promotions and Artist Development at Curb Records. "It was easy to believe that Held would be one of the most reactive songs of the year, and it's been just that!" The single has been on the charts for 18 weeks and has already gone to #1 on the PDA Inspirational charts for 3 consecutive weeks. Held sits at #2 this week on CRW and is top five at R & R Christian AC.

The initial week's album sales proved to be an all time personal best for Grant, landing her at #12 on the overall Christian Sales Chart and securing her first appearance on the Billboard Heat-Seekers chart (climbing from 20 to 8). "This is a phenomenal growth story for us," says Benson Curb, V.P. of Sales for Curb. The album continues to grow at retail, it was #1 on iTunes in both album and single (Held) downloads this week, which is a remarkable accomplishment."

Mark Funderburg, President, Word Entertainment, says, "'Awaken' has been one of Word Distributions leading releases this year, and the momentum behind it keeps building."

Grant continues her partnership with Women of Faith in a powerful new way as she helps launch "The Revolve Tour," WOF's first nationwide conference for girls in the 7th-12th grades. Natalie will be a featured speaker, discussing self-esteem issues and sharing more about her own. Her book, The Real Me: Becoming The Girl God Sees (W Publishing/Transit), is due out in October.

After an episode of Law and Order awakened Grant to the real-life, ongoing tragedy of human trafficking, what she learned disturbed her. Inspired by that television program and a trip to India with Shared Hope International, Natalie founded the HOME Foundation with one goal in mind: To help those who may not otherwise be helped.
