B.Sting Entertainment Develops First-Ever Feature Film Where the Public Produces the Movie
'The People's Movie'(TM) to Offer an Interactive Web Site Where Movie Decisions Will Be Made and the Public Can Profit
MINNEAPOLIS, June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- B.Sting Entertainment announced today that it has developed a first-of-its-kind feature film that will allow the general public to make decisions in the actual production of the movie through an interactive Web site.

"The People's Movie," which begins filming in Minnesota this August, also will give some Web site participants a chance to be Executive Producers and Producers -- allowing them to share in the movie's domestic box-office revenues.
"In this age of reality television, the public has become transfixed by 'unknowns' becoming well-known personalities," said Patrick Nelson, co-founder of B.Sting Entertainment. "Shows like American Idol have drawn the public into the voting process in a small way but we are going one step further by providing the complete package with full access to the film-making process, complete interactivity in making decisions that impact the movie and the option to reap a financial reward. This is the first-ever motion picture to truly be produced by the people, for the people."
"The People's Movie" enables the general public to live the life of an aspiring independent film maker from beginning to end -- including the opportunity to benefit from the monetary success of the movie.
"The wonderful thing about this movie is that the public not only gets to participate in the decisions made, they also have the opportunity to participate in any financial success of the movie," said Gene Teigland, co- founder of B.Sting Entertainment.
Anyone logging onto http://www.thepeoplesmovie.com/ and registering to participate have the opportunity to be randomly selected to be Executive Producer of the film. That select group will be eligible to receive 90 percent of B.Sting Entertainment's domestic box-office revenues. The remaining 10 percent of domestic box-office revenues will be distributed to one producer or Executive Producer through a lottery-type drawing at the end of the film's run in theaters.
"Where else do you have the opportunity to play a role in the on-screen development of a feature film," said Nelson. "Our goal is to bring the public behind the scenes of the Big Screen, so they can witness the filming of the movie as it happens and participate in the process."
While the script has already been written, the "producers" will make decisions on everything from wardrobe to casting. The decisions will be made based on information posted on the interactive Web site as well as their participation in online Web conferences.
To become a producer, individuals log on to the Web site and register. Immediately they have access to insider information including the latest news about the film, production journals and streaming videos. Then, in the Decision Room, producers will vote to make numerous creative decisions that will affect the outcome of the film. "Producers" also can participate in online discussions with professionals like the director and cinematographer that will be working on the film, as well as learn about their colleagues through producer spotlights. There is no cost to participate.
The People's Movie is a mystery/adventure/romance that will be released to theatres in 2006. The story line centers on a young, overweight social outcast, Francis Larson, who confesses to the murder of a teenage girl that he didn't commit. Francis fakes his own suicide, but with the help of his rich, eccentric uncle, he returns undetected by his classmates to bring the real killer to justice. The ending of the movie will remain a secret, so that none of the online participants will know how it ends until it is released in theatres.
