Icahn Comments on Apparent Landslide Victory

NEW YORK, May 11 /PRNewswire/ -- In connection with the apparent landslide victory for the three members of the Icahn slate of nominees for the election to the Blockbuster Inc. Board of Directors, Carl Icahn stated he was informed by his proxy solicitors that his slate appeared to have received about 77% of the votes or approximately a 3-1/2 to 1 margin. Mr. Icahn went on to say that he was "elated by this grand victory for corporate governance" and he thanked all shareholders who supported him, as well as his running mates, Strauss Zelnick and Edward Bleier. He said that he believed that there will be many more such opportunities in the future for shareholders to have a voice concerning the conduct of the managements that represent their interests. He concluded by saying, "My nominees and I are looking forward to working hand-in-hand with the rest of the board and Mr. Antioco.
