Channel 7 Wins Third Consecutive Sweeps of the 2004-05 Broadcast Season; May'05 NY Nielsen Victory Puts WABC-TV Farther Ahead of the Competition

'Eyewitness News' Finishes in First Place 6am, 12pm, 5pm and 6pm

NEW YORK, May 26 /PRNewswire/ -- WABC-TV delivers a 4.6 rating/11 share, Monday-Sunday Sign-On to Sign-Off, making it the most-viewed station in New York and the nation. This is according to Nielsen's May'05 Local People Meter data, where, in addition to being Channel 7's third consecutive sweeps win, it shows Channel 7 steadily widening its lead over its nearest competitor this season. WABC-TV's 7-day Sign-on to Sign-Off ratings advantage over WNBC-TV grows to 28% in May'05, up from 7% in Nov'04 and 22% in Feb'05.

Channel 7's "Eyewitness News" continues its impressive performance, finishing in first place in four of six local news races. Following are highlights of "Eyewitness News'" performances in the May'05 Nielsen report:

* First Place News at 5pm -- "Eyewitness News" notches a 6.4 rating/ 15
share in households, and its 2.7 rating/15 share in Adults 25-54,
Monday-Friday, beats the delivery of its three competitors combined.
With anchors Diana Williams, Sade Baderinwa and Sam Champion, the 5pm
"Eyewitness News" now has a 167% HH rating advantage over "CBS2 News at
5" and a 48% lead over "Live At Five."

* First Place News at 6pm -- "Eyewitness News" delivers a 6.0 rating/13
share in households, beating competing newscasts on WNBC-TV, WCBS-TV
and WNYW-TV. ABC7's rating advantage over "CBS2 News at 6" is 131%,
while its lead over "NewsChannel 4 at 6" is 36%. Anchored by Bill
Ritter, Liz Cho, Sam Champion and Scott Clark, the 6pm "Eyewitness
News" delivers a 2.3 rating/12 share in Adults 25-54, topping the
combined deliveries of Channels 2 and 4.

* First Place News at 12pm -- "Eyewitness News" scores a 4.0 rating/ 14
share in households, beating competing midday newscasts on WCBS-TV and
WNYW-TV. This edition of "Eyewitness News" delivers a 1.9 rating/13
share in Women 25-54, more than the combined deliveries of its two
competitors.

* First Place News at 6am -- "Eyewitness News" with Lori Stokes, Steve
Bartelstein and Bill Evans, ties for first place with WNBC-TV's "Today
In New York", both stations delivering a 3.0 household rating. Channel
7 posts a 1.5 rating/12 share in Adults 25-54, only one-tenth of a
point away from first place.

Other highlights of Channel 7's May'05 performance include:

* First Place Network News at 6:30pm -- "ABC World News Tonight with
Peter Jennings" wins the network news race with a 6.3 rating/13 share
in households, and now commands a 174% lead over "CBS Evening News" and
50% over "NBC Nightly News." "ABC World News Tonight" delivers a 2.3
rating/10 share in Adults 25-54, beating the combined deliveries of
CBS' and NBC's network newscasts.

* Top-rated Morning Programs -- "Live! With Regis and Kelly" and "Tony
Danza" both maintain first place in their respective time periods.
"Live!" dominates with a 4.7 HH rating/18 share, while "Tony Danza"
wraps its first season with a 2.9 HH rating/ 11 share, and notches its
third consecutive sweeps win.

* Top-rated Early Fringe Program -- "Oprah Winfrey" at 4pm wins the
afternoon race with an 8.0 rating/21 share in households. In Women 25-
54, "Oprah's" 6.1 rating/30 share is 79% greater than the combined
deliveries of "Judge Judy" on NBC/4 and "People's Court on CBS/2.

* Top-rated Access Programs -- "Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune" on
ABC/7 continue to dominate in prime access, respectively delivering a
10.6 HH rating/20 share and an 8.8 HH rating/16 share.

* "Good Morning America" Moves Closer to First Place -- "GMA's" 3.7
rating/12 share in households puts it just two-tenths of a rating point
away from first place. In Adults 25-54, the race is even closer: only
one-tenth of a point separates "GMA" (1.6 rating/12 share) from "Today
Show" (1.7 rating/12 share.)
