The Weather Channel Asks Viewers to Select Heroes of The Storm

Online Polling Begins April 15 at www.weather.com

ATLANTA, April 8 /PRNewswire/ -- The Weather Channel, the premier source for weather forecasting, is asking viewers from coast to coast to cast their vote for the fist ever "Heroes of the Storm Award," honoring the heroic actions of everyday people caught up in extraordinary weather experiences. Beginning April 15, viewers are invited to complete a ballot at http://www.weather.com/ and select a winner from a list of nominees highlighted during Heroes of the Storm, an original, 10-part program airing throughout the week of April 10 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT).

Weather fans will select a winner among a list of ten nominees who will all be recognized during a live television event broadcast from Washington, D.C. on April 21 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT).

"These nominated individuals have shown tremendous courage in the face of devastating weather conditions and have heroically battled the forces of nature to save the lives of others," said Patrick Scott, president of The Weather Channel Networks. "The Weather Channel is honored to be sharing their extraordinary stories and we hope that viewers across the country will help select the group of rescuers to be awarded the first-ever Heroes of the Storm Award."
