the Rainbow," created with composer Harold Arlen for the
movie "The Wizard of Oz." Stamp designer Ethel Kessler began
with a photograph taken by portrait photographer Barbara
Bordnick in 1978, then added other elements including a
rainbow and the lyric "somewhere over the rainbow skies are
blue" from Harburg's Oscar-winning song.
Performing Harburg's songs are Ben Harburg, Harburg's
grandson; Joel Grey, A.J. Irvin, Anne Jackson, Maureen
McGovern, Kerry O'Malley, Catherine Russell, John Sloman, Eli
Wallach and Terri White.
