Putting a Face to the Yeti
Putting a Face to the Yeti
LONDON, April 11/PRNewswire/ --
- With Picture
Storyteller Media Group, producers of the cult animal mystery
investigative series Animal X, say they have on tape the face of a Big Foot -
also known as Yetis or Sasquatch. The elusive 2-metre tall apes claim to have
been seen by many people but have never been documented on film.
A still taken from a recent expedition to a secret location in Texas is
from a sequence of around 15 frames caught on video showing the creature as
the cameraman swung round to where investigator and zoologist Natalie Schmitt
was pointing. She had been speaking to camera with fellow investigator and
cinematographer Daniel Searle when she suddenly spotted the creature moving
in the bush.
The 2.5 million dollar series is the first production for Storyteller's
new Natural Mystery Unit and features veteran British actor Bill Kerr
(Hancock's Half Hour).
The Big Foot episode is among 10 mystery sequences shot for US Cable
Network Animal Planet. The series went on air in the States on 21 March and
within one week had doubled its viewing figures. It is fast proving a cult
series especially among young people aged 6-13. Other episodes include Winged
Creatures, Lizard Men, Alien Big Cats and Ghostly Creatures.
The director of the series Mike Searle said: ``The Natural Mystery Unit
starts from a place where traditional natural history ends. We have aimed to
create a show that combines all the excitement of drama-driven investigative
TV shows like CSI and Charlie's Angels, but we have made it for a younger
audience.
Mercury Media will be distributing the series at MipTV.
