'Married ... with Children' Star, 'While You Were Out' Host and Yahoo! Co- Founder Among Those Featured in Tulane University Broadcast

NEW ORLEANS, March 4 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- "Married ... with Children" star Harold Sylvester, "While You Were Out" host Evan Farmer, New York Yankees great Bobby Brown, Yahoo! co-founder David Filo and former "Meet the Press" moderator Bill Monroe are just a few of the Tulane University alumni who will be part of "An Evening of Distinction" a live variety-style show originating from New Orleans and broadcast to Tulane alumni chapter cities March 17 at 8 p.m. Eastern time, 7 p.m. Central time, 6 p.m. Mountain time and 5 p.m. Pacific time.

The broadcast will launch "Promise and Distinction: The Campaign for Tulane University," a $700 million fundraising effort that is the largest ever undertaken by a Louisiana university. The show will mix taped and live appearances by distinguished alumni, along with performances by New Orleans musicians including the debut of a special Tulane song written by New Orleans musician Jep Epstein.

The two-day campaign launch will also include "Highlights of Tulane" featuring Tulane achievements in the arts, sciences and letters. Other launch events include "The Big Splash," an on-campus party announcing the campaign to Tulane faculty, staff and students March 18 from 3 to 5 p.m.

The campaign kickoff will culminate with the invitation-only "HullabaZoo" March 18 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Audubon Zoo. "HullabaZoo" will include great food, entertainment by Charmaine Neville and exhibitions spotlighting Tulane research and artistic achievements.
