Stratex Networks Awarded Contract by neuf telecom Eclipse(TM) Liquid Bandwidth(TM) Solution to Provide Ethernet Transmission Links

SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Stratex Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:STXN), a leading provider of wireless transmission solutions, announced that neuf telecom, a leading broadband service provider in France, has selected the Eclipse nodal transmission platform to provide wireless Ethernet interconnections to their core fiber network.

neuf telecom has deployed an IP-centric network to provide services including voice (Voice over IP, or VoIP), broadband Internet access, and video (TV) over DSL (Digital Subscriber Line). The deployment of this 'triple play' of services is based on the remote deployment of IP DSLAMs (DSL Access Multiplexers) to extend the reach of DSL.

Eclipse was selected to provide wireless access to remote DSLAMs, which require a high-speed Ethernet backhaul solution. Eclipse delivers wireless Ethernet transport with low latency, high bandwidth and operator-controlled quality of service (QoS). Eclipse supports wireless connections with a throughput of up to 622 Mbps.
