Senior AOL Executive Dawn Meyerriecks Joins Cranite Advisory Board

Former Defense Information Systems Agency CTO To Advise Wireless Security Leader

SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Cranite Systems, Inc., a leading provider of security software for wireless local area networks (WLANs), announced today that Dawn Meyerriecks, a senior AOL executive and Government Computer News' Department of Defense "Person of the Year" for 2004, has joined Cranite's Board of Advisors.

Meyerriecks, who previously served as the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) CTO, will advise Cranite as the company continues to develop and market industry-leading wireless security solutions for government, healthcare and enterprise customers worldwide.

As vice president for strategic development in the AOL products organization, Meyerriecks' current duties include managing the development of an integrated product strategy. She works closely with marketing and technology groups on new product ideas and oversees strategic development, technology evangelism, partner integration and product launches and releases.

Prior to AOL, Meyerriecks worked for nearly ten years at the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), where she was the chief technology officer and technical director for the Joint Interoperability and Engineering Organization (JIEO). Her last assignment was to charter and lead a new Global Information Grid (GIG) Enterprise Services organization. Meyerriecks worked at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory as a senior engineer and product manager before her tenure at DISA.

In addition to being named the Government Computer News Department of Defense Person of the Year for 2004, Meyerriecks has been honored with numerous other awards, including InfoWorld 2002 CTO of the year; Federal Computer Week 2000 Top 100; InfoWorld 2001 CTO of the year for the government sector; the Presidential Distinguished Service Award, November 2001; the Senior Executive Service Exceptional Achievement Awards in 1998, 1999, 2000; and the National Performance Review in August 1996. In November 2001, she was featured in Fortune magazine as one of the top 100 intellectual leaders in the world.
