Medidata Solutions Announces Record 297 Percent Q4 Sales Growth and 196 Percent Annual Growth

NEW YORK, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Medidata Solutions, a global electronic clinical data management solutions provider with clients in 39 countries, today announced a 297 percent increase in sales for Q4, 2004 over the same period in 2003 bringing total 2004 revenue to a 166 percent increase over the previous year. This heralds the Company's 16th consecutive quarter and fourth consecutive year of industry leading growth.

Medidata Vision Developer(TM), the first solution to easily enable metric and clinical data to be combined was also introduced. Medidata's deep and comprehensive products, and global capabilities are a key reason for the Company's record growth.

Medidata's record sales numbers included several hundred new studies, including several significant enterprise contracts, reflecting the Company's leadership position in the rapidly growing field of clinical data management. Five new customers were acquired in the fourth quarter and 13 new customers for the year. In line with sales growth, employee headcount grew 169 percent, as Medidata recruited key talent to manage ongoing and new clinical trials in more than 39 countries.
