GSN Telecasts a Special Three-Hour Marathon Devoted to the Emmy Award-Winning Series 'WIN BEN STEIN'S MONEY' Sunday, February 27

Marathon Features Some of Ben Stein's Most Difficult Challenges and Upsets

SANTA MONICA, Calif., Feb. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Is it possible to win Ben Stein's money? That question will be answered when GSN features some of the super-smart comedian's most trying challenges in a special three-hour WIN BEN STEIN'S MONEY marathon Sunday, February 27 from 9 PM to Midnight ET/PT.

The popular series hosted by Jimmy Kimmel features three contestants who match wits in a trivia contest to win $5,000. As the show progresses, contestants are eliminated in rounds of play until one remains. The last contestant goes head-to-head with Ben Stein in a best of ten questions test of random knowledge. Locked in isolation booths, Stein and the final contestant attempt to answer the same ten questions in a timed round. Whoever correctly answers the most questions in the one minute round wins. If the contestant answers more questions than Stein, they walk away with $5000 of Stein's money. If they tie, the contestant goes home with the money he/she has won in rounds one and two. If Stein wins, he has successfully defended his money and the contestant goes home with nothing.

Some of the categories that will be featured during GSN's marathon include the provocatively jaw-dropping category, "I'll Hold Your Interest Until the Moment of Withdrawal," "Books by Crooks Who Were Friends of Ben," "Schwarzenegger and other Austrian Dynasties," among many notable others.

The show, which originally premiered on July 28, 1997, earned 21 nominations and seven Daytime Emmy Awards including Outstanding Audience Game Participation Show, Outstanding Game Show Host (Kimmel & Stein), Outstanding Special Class Writing and Outstanding Directing in a Game Show. Produced by Valley Crest Productions and Buena Vista Television, the series was executive produced by Andrew Golder, Al Burton and Byron Glore and Terrence McDonnell.
